TEMS International, a leading provider of environmental management and compliance services to energy exploration and production companies, has appointed five new technical engineers in response to winning three contracts with major operators in the USA which will result in a combined value in excess of $1 million.
The growth follows the company’s recent opening of an office in Kuala Lumpur to support a growing number of projects in the Asia Pacific region.
Commencing in October, the contract wins are with existing customers and will run for up to three years, seeing TEMS International deliver its drilling performance management and optimisation, continuous environmental compliance and carbon footprint reduction services onboard drilling installations in the Gulf of Mexico. Working alongside rig personnel, TEMS International engineers will ensure drilling operations meet or surpass local environmental regulations and reduce emissions, while also implementing changes that can improve overall drilling performance.
“Securing these contracts with existing clients is a major boost for TEMS, emphasising the value that exploration and production companies attach to our services and cementing our position as leaders in our field,” explains TEMS Managing Director, Bill Walkingshaw. “The energy industry is currently under significant pressure to optimise operating efficiencies, and environmental compliance plays a fundamental part in that process.
“These contract wins strengthen our role as a trusted partner for operations in the Gulf of Mexico, and recognise the capability, talent and expertise of our team in creating a lasting, positive impact on the operations of critical energy infrastructure across the globe. Our independence from drilling equipment manufacturers and service providers continues to be one of our key strengths, and I’m pleased to be in a strong position for growth through 2023 and beyond.”
The presence of a Houston office, established just a year after the company’s inception in Aberdeen in 2017, means TEMS is ideally located to support these new contracts in the Gulf of Mexico, and best respond to the needs of a growing international customer base. The US office is in the Energy Corridor of Houston, led by John Donaldson, VP of Operations and supported by a global team of technical and environmental specialists delivering products and services for projects in the Gulf of Mexico, Mexico and Trinidad.
VP of Operations John Donaldson said: “Our US operations have been going from strength to strength as we’ve continued to build relationships locally and deliver significant cost savings and environmental compliance for our customers. These contract wins are testament to the commitment and local investment we’ve been making over the last three years, and we look forward to growing the team to support the demand for our services.”
