An independent provider of environmental management and compliance services to the global oil and gas industry has been awarded new management certifications.

ISO-9001-14001-45001TEMS International, which is headquartered in Aberdeen, Scotland and has offices in Houston and Kuala Lumpur, has gained the internationally recognised environmental management and occupational health and safety certifications ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018. The firm received the standards a few months after achieving the ISO 9001:2015 quality management certification.

Receipt of the certifications follows a rigorous audit by international risk management and quality assurance company DNV GL and demonstrates TEMS International’s commitment to delivering quality services, environmental excellence and safe working practices. Work to achieve all three certifications was led by TEMS International’s experienced QHSE manager Nicola Lomax.

The three standards are closely aligned to the comprehensive range of services that TEMS International provides to oil and gas operators around the world. The independent firm works with operators to manage and optimise drilling performance and drilling waste over the life-cycle of a well in order to increase efficiencies, reduce drilling costs, help support improvements in workplace safety, and ensure environmental and regulatory compliance.

Since its launch in 2017, TEMS international has undertaken work in oil and gas provinces around the world, including the Gulf of Mexico, south-east Asia, Trinidad and Mexico.

Managing director of TEMS International, Bill Walkingshaw, said: “Since establishing the business in 2017 we have aligned all of our work with these ISO standards and their predecessors. We are very pleased to now hold all three certifications and securing them recognises the hard work of our whole team.

“At TEMS International we are committed to supporting oil and gas operators in improving efficiencies, minimising waste and ensuring environmental and regulatory compliance over the life-cycle of a well. This trio of ISO certifications will provide added assurance to operators and the wider supply chain in the proven independent services we deliver.”
