TEMS International has expanded its office-based team to support the continued growth and expansion of the company.

Independent drilling performance management specialist has appointed Michelle Shinnie to the role of office administrator at its Aberdeen headquarters. She brings a wealth of experience to the position having held similar roles in the legal, IT and oil and gas sectors over the past 20 years.

The role will see Michelle provide administrative support across the company, including assisting colleagues in overseas offices in Houston and Kuala Lumpur, organising events and utilising her sales experience to aid the production tender of documents. A key part of her job will be managing the training, equipment, travel, visa and accommodation requirements of the firm’s engineers who work on oil and gas drilling installations around the world.

TEMS International provides oil and gas operators with a comprehensive range of services that manage and optimise drilling performance, while ensuring environmental and regulatory compliance. It also provides environmental rig and vessel audits, and drilling performance waste management services.

Michelle is looking forward to the new challenges that her role at TEMS International will bring. “I’m always happy to come out of my comfort zone to learn new things,” said Michelle. “After working for the same large corporation for more than a decade I was ready for a change and joining the team at TEMS International will provide that.

“TEMS International is a young, growing company that operates in a different part of the oil and gas supply chain to which I’ve worked previously. There’s lots to learn and new skills to acquire, and I’m excited by the opportunity.”

Bill Walkingshaw, TEMS International managing director, said: “We are continuing to see operators placing significant emphasis on improving the cost efficiency of drilling performance and ensuring regulatory compliance. As a service company it is important that we have a skilled office-based team that can support our engineers around the world to ensure they can focus on delivering effective results for our clients.

“Michelle brings a lot of experience and a broad skillset to the team and will be another important central point of contact for our engineers and clients. It is great to welcome her onboard.”
